This ensures that the recording is uninterrupted even in the event of minor Wi-Fi transmission errors. It is easy and intuitive to use, even for guests. First and foremost, I liked the quality of recordings. Then the options of editing video post recording, with the tools provided to cater for different needs is awesome. I could use AI features to cut insta reels or manually frame people and enhance voices. We did not use it yet, but live video to multiple platforms is another great feature. Some time ago, I accidentally paid the full-year subscription, even though we had a planned break a month later. I've been refunded, even though it was clearly my mistake. Super easy and high quality audio recording
Pros: I first used Riverside as a guest on someone else's podcast, and was won over by the ease of use. When I launched my own podcast, I selected Riverside partly for that and partly for the audio quality. Cons: On rare occasions, it has taken one or two goes to get up and running smoothly with a guest, but there's every chance that is something to do with the guest's technical setup.
Great For Video Clips
Pros: The transcript based editor is incredibly easy to use, cuts out audio silences, and does not have a video upload limit. Also, the ability to set up a Youtube link is a huge bonus! Cons: Sometimes the silence detection is not quite right and needs a little bit of tweaking. Also, it doesn't support copy/paste of either clips and/or text.

I avoided making videos for such a long time because I found the process too complex. (1) Getting set up with a teleprompter to record things, and (2) most especially, editing the output to look and sound reasonable. Pros: It simplifies so many tasks making my production dramatically easier. Whereas it used to take me hours to edit an episode the smart editing software is able to do much of it for me. Cons: Some smaller adjustments can be frustrating like occasionally I want to add back in something that it "smart edited". I am hoping this new version improves that.

In many ways it's absolutely wonderful. It makes creating and editing videos ridiculously easy. The AI features are amazing. Clearly built by an absolute genius. I'd thoroughly recommend it. The only problem is that it's SO SLOW. Of course uploading and downloading takes time. But the recording studio and editor often run at a glacial speed as well, and I sometimes spend more time waiting for them than I do actually working on the video -- literally. Hours get wasted. And it's not like I have time to waste. So it's brilliant, but also very frustrating.

Great quality and storage features! All it needs now is a single master time stamp that begins when recording starts so interrupted recordings do not show up as if they were an additional guest and latency between geographically dispersed guests do not talk over each other in the final product.

Pros: I really liked the video download quality. It was clear and high quality recordings I could use in my self-paced courses. I also liked many of the editing features like being able to take out portions of video by simply taking out the text transcript. So easy! Cons: A lot of things were not as good as Zoom. I really like the concept, however, I can’t get around this app nor can I really appreciate the effort put into it since it is pretty cut and dry. I love Riverside.
Pros: I like that I can edit via the transcript. This helps with correcting audio and makes it a more seamless process. Cons: I don't like the fact that the connection or server has delays at time and it takes more time to edit.

Great when it works as expected. It can save a lot of time and effort on editing. The issue I have is with support. I've run into two issues and the response is underwhelming. Being sent links that's the equivalent of saying it's not us it's you is not remotely helpful. Especially when after back and forth they end up having to acknowledge the issue on their end.

Web app had unexpected errors so had to use the Android app and my Bluetooth headphones. Glad I don't use Riverside with my own show. Update: turns out it was the AdGuard AdBlocker add-on that I run in Chrome and Edge. I don't run ad blockers in Firefox but Riverside doesn't support Firefox. Updated from 1 star to 3 stars. Should test how your web app responds to ad blockers.
Painfully slow support, incapable of fixing tech issues (11 days later)
I'll keep it super super short, but despite all the good reviews, my experience has been terrible. I signed up and was excited to use Riverside, but holy moly. Today is day 11 after I first wrote their support. Every email takes at least two days to get a response. Whenever you do, it's either boilerplate "we're looking into this", or blaming it on your setup. Specific issue: screen recordings are incredibly low quality, despite 5K display, and camera being 4K and sharp. Feature-Rich but Unreliable and Buggy
Likes: I like that Riverside makes it really easy to record, edit, and draft copy for final show publishing. I also love that I my Riverside Studio has a dedicated URL, so I'm able to send recording links to my studio guests without having to manually pull unique links. Great when it works awful when you have issues seeking support
Pros: It's great when it works because it can cut down on a lot of edit time. What could take me hours to pull together clips it can be created in minutes. Cons: The support team responses are awful when you run into an issue. There's a default it's not us it's you type response which can be gaslighting when you know it's not user error.

I had an interview lined up with a New York Times Bestselling author for my radio show/podcast. The system sent out dead links and I could not get it fixed at the scheduled time. Magic Clips; Gone.
One of the things I use this app for more than anything, if not, the only thing, is the Magic Clips. I record an episode through Google Chrome, and when finished recording, the recording generates Magic Clips to which I would find in my “For You” section of each episode on the app. I would click on a Magic Clip on the app on my phone, and while I couldn’t view it, yet, was able to export and then download to my phone to prepare for social media posting. BY FAR WORST APP FOR PODCAST
Honestly this app is awful, any type of recording is obnoxious to use. It forces you to do one time runs of any content you try to create and then “edit” whatever you make, but instead of simply recording the audio and then editing the hiccups outs it tries to do everything at once, creating unnecessary wait times, awful sound quality and overall terrible exports than then you end up having to manually fix yourself anyways. They also have the audacity to charge people for their garbage of an app, that creates problems to then try and sell you the solution. DO NOT PURCHASE.

$20,000 to produce 15 YouTube Videos
We ended up spending $20,000 to produce 15 YouTube videos with this service. After a year and a half, we found that it was too much for what we need. We tried working with the company to downgrade to a more suitable plan for our small business, but they were unwilling to work with us. Their contract has absolutely no “out” clause, so they can strong-arm you into staying. In a year, we’ve had 3 different account managers. Perhaps the way they treat customers who have spent quite a large sum of money with them, is also how they treat their team internally. We CANNOT recommend them.
Recordings not uploaded and lost, can't trust this platform
After having painstakingly found a guest, prepped for hours, recorded a great session, then only to find that the last 10min of the recording was lost in the upload, is so crappy. They did offer me 1 month free (not really worth it now, as I can't trust riverside). Once you loose the trust that your recording is going to record you can't really use the platform again.

So many technical issues that cause recordings to fail mid-way through. Technical support have a super annoying bot and it takes too long to speak to an agent. When you do get through, they never seem to help right away, but go away and reply on email. Not good enough when you are relying on getting videos out quickly. Awful experience. I lost access to my previous podcast that I had with Spotify. Can't edit in the cellphone like I used to. Spotify blew it with this. I'm really frustrated. To make matters worse there is no tech support no nothing to help or guide in the transition from Spotify for Podcasters to this app.

Be aware
Be aware, they put you on auto-renewal and then do not send any reminder messages. When you ask for a refund they quote hidden terms and conditions. Eventually, under threat of chargeback, they refund but deduct more than pro-rata. Video is laggy when using the iPhone as a camera but despite tech requests, there’s no solution forthcoming.

The mobile application does not show any options except start recording and uploading. But after the record is completed it does not show any option where I can find my recordings and the application does not show any option of using headphones or else or the options which are there in the link. The app is complete mess. I am having trouble to record directly using the application. When I try to record it through the link it just redirects me to the application.
